Day 1

Arrival in Kigali Rwanda and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your Uganda gorilla trekking safari begins with your arrival at Kigali International Airport in Rwanda, where you will be warmly welcomed by a professional safari guide from Rugo Miles Africa. After a short briefing about your adventure, the journey continues with a scenic drive from Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda.

The drive from Kigali to Bwindi covers approximately 170 to 200 kilometers depending on the sector of the park where your lodge is located. The journey takes approximately 4 to 5 hours, making this route significantly shorter compared to traveling from Entebbe in Uganda. Along the way, travelers enjoy breathtaking views of Rwanda’s famous land of a thousand hills, lush green countryside, terraced agricultural landscapes, and vibrant rural villages.

Day 2

Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Today is the highlight of your safari as you embark on the once in a lifetime gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will transfer to the Bwindi National Park headquarters for registration and a detailed briefing conducted by the Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. During the briefing, visitors are assigned to a specific habituated gorilla family group, and important guidelines for interacting with the gorillas are explained.

The gorilla trekking adventure begins with a guided hike through the dense rainforest of Bwindi, accompanied by experienced park rangers and trackers. The trekking distance varies depending on the location of the gorilla family, ranging from 2 to 6 hours of hiking through forest trails, steep hills, and thick vegetation.
