Day 1
Arrival in Kigali and Transfer to Akagera National Park

Your 4-day Akagera Big Five safari begins with your arrival at Kigali International Airport, where our professional guides from Rugo Miles Africa will welcome you. After a brief introduction to the itinerary, you will embark on a scenic drive eastwards toward Akagera National Park, approximately 2.5 to 3 hours from Kigali. Along the way, enjoy rolling hills, local villages, and picturesque landscapes that set the tone for your safari adventure.

Upon arrival at the park, you can check in to your chosen accommodation:

Day 2
Full-Day Safari in Akagera National Park

After an early breakfast, embark on your first full-day safari through Akagera National Park. Guided by experienced rangers, the morning game drive provides excellent opportunities to spot lions lounging in the grass, elephants foraging near watering holes, buffalo herds, giraffes browsing treetops, and the elusive leopards. Your guide will share fascinating insights about the park’s history, flora, and fauna.

Lunch can be enjoyed as a picnic in designated safe areas or back at your lodge, depending on your preference. In the afternoon, the safari continues, focusing on different habitats within the park, including wetlands, savannahs, and woodlands.
